About the Conference

The 2nd International Conference in Mechanical Engineering (INCOM 2024) is going to be held in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India on 5 and 6 January, 2024. The conference will provide a global platform for researchers, academicians, scientists, practicing engineers and industry professionals to showcase and deliberate about their research work, studies, contributions, developments and new concepts related to the field of Mechanical Engineering. The event will consist of keynote lectures in various themes by eminent personalities of respective domains, regular sessions of contributed papers and special sessions.

Jadavpur University and it’s Achievements

Jadavpur University is one of the oldest universities in the country that was established, under The National Council of Education, Bengal and functioning since 1906. It was the outcome of nationalist movement initiated by the intellectuals and thinkers of Bengal. The University consists of the Faculties of Engineering, Arts and Science along with a large number of Interdisciplinary Schools under Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Law and Management. Few recent achievements of the University are listed below:

  • Re-accredited by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.68 on a four-point scale at A Grade.

  • Jadavpur University students have won National Championship in the 14th National Youth Parliament

  • Competition conducted by Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs, Govt. of India, New Delhi

  • Recently celebrated a decade as a SYLFF institution

About The Department of Mechanical Engineering

This is one of the oldest departments of the University that was established in 1906. Since inception this department offered undergraduate degree engineering course in Mechanical Engineering and later on introduced courses on post graduate and doctoral level.At present it is the largest department in the Faculty of Engineering. The department is actively engaged in various research projects of National importance, involving organizations like DRDO, BRNS, DST, ARDB, NSTL etc. Alumni of this century old institution are active in the highest level of academia and industries across the world. With wide range of global collaboration and recognition of reputed national/ international bodies of accreditation, the department is growing and attaining new heights of excellence every year.
